Chez Charlene respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Chez Charlene is a wedding and conference venue at R223, Plot 22 Mooiplaats, Pretoria East 0032. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here. You can reach us at info@chezcharlene.co.za or +27 12 802 0791.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our website form, we receive:
- your name and email address
- your phone number, if you give it
- what you are enquiring about, your event date and approximate number of guests, if you give them
- anything you write in your message
If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we receive whatever you choose to send us that way. If you accept analytics cookies, we also receive anonymous usage statistics (see Cookies and tracking below).
Why we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, arrange a viewing, prepare a quote and, if you book with us, to plan and deliver your event. We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is delivered to us by email through our website and email hosting providers, who process it only to deliver it. If you book an event, we share only what is needed with the suppliers involved in your day, and only once you have agreed to use them.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and follow up. If you book with us, we keep your information for as long as we need it to deliver your event and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Cookies and tracking
With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are from, what device they use, and whether they send an enquiry or tap to call or WhatsApp us. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this and processes the information on our behalf. We use it only to improve the website, not for advertising, and we do not see who you are.
Analytics only runs if you choose Accept on the cookie notice. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. We do not use advertising trackers, and our fonts and images are served from our own website.
Other websites
Links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Google Maps and our online event builder take you to services run by other companies. Their own privacy policies apply once you are there.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy
- correct or update it
- delete it, where we no longer need to keep it
- stop using it, if you object to how we use it
Send your request to info@chezcharlene.co.za, for the attention of our Information Officer. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
